Some public and private schools, such as The Summit Country Day School from Cincinnati, OH, announced that they would require students to wear both face masks and face shields in classroom<\/a> settings when close contact with other people is expected, i.e. science labs, some small group lessons, and certain desk configurations. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Summit School will be providing the shields and selling additional face shields to parents at their Spirit Shop. Teachers and school districts from some other states reported that help hasn’t come yet from the districts, so they started ordering bulk face shields<\/a> and other PPE on their own for school reopening on August 20. A middle-school teacher from Guthrie, Oklahoma, says that his district is recommending but not requiring face coverings when the school reopens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exceptions to the mask policy will be made for children with severe allergies or respiratory challenges where face shield<\/a> may be used instead.<\/p>\n
