Massive Data Breach: 4chan Hacked, Internal Secrets Exposed!

Endor Labs Secures $93M to Revolutionize AI Code Vulnerability Scanning Tools

AI-generated code is revolutionizing the software development landscape, but it simultaneously brings forth significant security challenges. A recent survey conducted by the developer security platform Synk revealed that over 50% of organizations frequently encounter security issues with AI-produced code. This growing concern has prompted innovative companies like Endor Labs to pivot their focus and enhance their offerings in AI code security.

Endor Labs Shifts Focus to AI Code Security

Initially, Endor Labs concentrated on helping organizations secure their open-source package dependencies. The startup successfully raised a $70 million Series A funding round two years ago to bolster its developer pipeline governance service. However, co-founders Varun Badhwar and Dimitri Stiliadis recognized a burgeoning need in the industry: the identification and mitigation of vulnerabilities in code generated and refined by AI.

Innovative Solutions for Modern Coding Challenges

Today, Endor Labs offers a platform that not only reviews code but also identifies risks and recommends precise fixes, applying them automatically. This platform includes a plugin compatible with AI-powered programming tools, such as Cursor and GitHub Copilot, which scans code in real-time to flag potential issues.

Significant Funding Boost

Endor recently announced the successful closure of a $93 million Series B funding round, led by DFJ Growth, with contributions from notable investors like Salesforce Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and others. This funding round has significantly increased the company’s valuation compared to its Series A.

“This new round positions us to continue delivering, even in a tougher macro environment,” said CEO Varun Badhwar. He emphasized the strong momentum Endor has experienced, boasting 30x annual recurring revenue growth since the Series A in 2023. The total capital raised now stands at $163 million, which will be used to further develop Endor’s platform.

Enhanced Oversight for AI Integrations

In addition to its core services, Endor Labs launched a tool that helps organizations identify AI model integrations within their codebase and assess these integrations for security flaws. This initiative aims to provide improved oversight as AI programming tools become increasingly prevalent.

Protecting a Growing User Base

Endor Labs currently protects over 5 million applications and conducts more than a million scans weekly for high-profile clients, including OpenAI, Rubrik, Peloton, Snowflake, Egnyte, and Dropbox.

As Badhwar noted, “We came out of stealth in October 2022 — right as interest rates spiked — and we’ve seen strong traction ever since.”

Endor Labs: A New Standard in Application Security

Ramin Sayar, a venture partner at DFJ Growth, commented on Endor’s timely emergence in the market. “As generative AI transforms coding practices, developers are generating vast amounts of code without thorough visibility and control,” he stated. “Endor Labs is not only setting a new standard in application security but also creating a movement with their expanded platform.”

Currently, Endor Labs employs 133 staff members, with offices located in Palo Alto and Bangalore, positioning itself as a leader in the evolving landscape of AI code security.
