AngelList and CoinList Join Forces to Empower Crypto Startups in Fundraising and Financial Management
As the cryptocurrency market experiences a remarkable resurgence, innovative platforms like AngelList and CoinList are stepping up to support crypto entrepreneurs. Their latest initiative focuses on facilitating capital raises specifically for founders in the crypto space through the introduction of special purpose vehicles (SPVs) and roll-up vehicles (RUVs).
New Partnership for Crypto Capital Raising
In an exclusive announcement to TechCrunch, AngelList and CoinList revealed their collaboration aimed at streamlining investment processes for crypto startups. This partnership will empower users to collectively raise funds through syndicates, effectively managing their investments in the crypto realm.
Understanding Crypto SPVs and RUVs
The newly launched crypto SPVs will allow investors to fund projects using stablecoins, currently at no additional cost. According to CoinList CEO Raghav Gulati, “Investors can fund with USDC, which simplifies the process for crypto investors who prefer not to use traditional banking methods.” USDC, a digital dollar stablecoin, can be redeemed 1:1 for U.S. dollars, making it a convenient choice for many.
- Tokens Distribution: Tokens can be distributed directly to Limited Partners (LPs), making them compatible with various non-U.S. token issuers and investors.
- Integration Coming Soon: CoinList’s software integration for this initiative is expected to launch shortly.
Benefits of the Crypto Roll-Up Vehicles
The crypto roll-up vehicles are specifically designed to streamline the investment collection process for founders during fundraising rounds. This model minimizes the compliance burdens typically associated with managing multiple stakeholders at an early stage.
Gulati emphasized the advantages of RUVs, stating, “Crypto startups often aim to onboard numerous angel investors. With RUVs, dozens of angels can manage paperwork, send funds, and receive ongoing reporting efficiently with AngelList Crypto RUVs.”
The Future of Crypto Investment
Despite facing challenges during the recent crypto winter, which saw a downturn in Web3 interest and notable legal issues for industry figures, the crypto market is regaining traction. With Bitcoin reaching new heights and increasing interest from influential figures, including the Trump administration, the crypto landscape is set to attract more mainstream investors.
