Startups Unveil Innovative AI Cheating App ‘Cluely’ to Engage Users

- “When a Proctaroo session is active, we can see running applications and hidden background processes—Cluely is no different.”
- Aamodt criticized Cluely’s business model, labeling it as “unethical.”
Cluely’s Response and Future Plans
In response to the backlash, Lee has dismissed the anti-cheating solutions proposed by startups like Proctaroo, likening them to unsuccessful attempts at cracking down on cheating in the video game industry. He emphasized that Cluely is contemplating hardware development, which he believes could make anti-cheating software obsolete.

Lee elaborated on the possibilities of expanding into hardware, stating:

- Even a brain chip
He asserted that such advancements are “quite trivial technologically,” despite the challenges faced by some high-profile AI hardware projects, such as Humane’s AI Pin.
Shifts in Messaging
The scrutiny surrounding Cluely’s operations seems to have prompted a shift in its messaging. The company has removed references to cheating on exams and job interviews from its website and manifesto, focusing instead on less sensitive topics such as sales calls and meetings.
