Transforming AI Projects: Nord Security Founders Unveil Nexos.ai to Propel Enterprises from Pilot to Production

Introducing Nexos.ai, an innovative AI orchestration startup founded by the creators of the renowned Lithuanian unicorn, Nord Security. This exciting venture aims to assist enterprises in effectively deploying their AI initiatives, with a primary focus on enhancing visibility, security, and adaptability for large language models (LLMs).

Founders and Funding of Nexos.ai

Nexos.ai is co-founded by Tomas Okmanas and Eimantas Sabaliauskas, who have established a significant presence in both Lithuania and Europe with their previous success at Nord Security, famous for its flagship product, NordVPN. After a decade of bootstrapping, Nord Security raised a remarkable $100 million in 2022, achieving a valuation of $1.6 billion, which eventually soared to $3 billion during a later funding round.

Emerging from stealth mode, Nexos.ai has successfully secured $8 million in funding from prestigious investors, including Index Ventures, marking its first investment in Lithuania.

Investor Insights

Hannah Seal, a partner at Index Ventures, expressed her enthusiasm for the founders, stating, “We’ve known of Tomas and the work that he’s done for many years. As soon as we heard that he was building a new company in the AI space, we were very eager.” Other prominent investors include Creandum and Dig Ventures, alongside notable angel investors from leading tech firms like Datadog, Klarna, Supercell, and Wix.

The Challenge of AI Deployment

Organizations striving to implement their AI solutions often face the daunting task of integrating multiple tools, which may require hiring specialists with the necessary expertise. This is where Nexos.ai steps in.

  • Bridging the Gap: Okmanas identifies a significant divide between testing AI in controlled environments and deploying it in production. He emphasizes the importance of ensuring high availability, security, and cost management in enterprise settings.
  • Experience from Nord Security: After encountering challenges while integrating AI into their web-hosting platform, Hostinger, Okmanas and his team were inspired to create a solution that simplifies AI deployment and enhances visibility.

Innovative Solutions Offered by Nexos.ai

Nexos.ai provides a streamlined API that gives users access to over 200 AI models, ranging from well-known providers like OpenAI and Anthropic to niche LLMs. This flexibility allows companies to switch providers seamlessly, ensuring uninterrupted service even during outages.

Additional features include:

  • Intelligent Caching: The system can utilize its database for repeated queries, reducing costs associated with LLM usage.
  • Data Security: Nexos.ai safeguards sensitive information by preventing the transmission of private data to LLM providers and allowing immediate access termination for departing employees.

Addressing Data Security Concerns

Data security remains a critical issue for enterprises, especially in sectors like healthcare, banking, and insurance. Okmanas acknowledges the challenges faced by companies, including previous breaches at Hostinger and NordVPN. To address these concerns, Nexos.ai plans to offer self-hosting options and supports integration with companies’ internal LLMs.

Moreover, the platform incorporates measures to identify and reroute sensitive data, while handling general queries on its end.

Rapid Development and Future Outlook

From conception to incorporation, Nexos.ai was established in just six weeks. The founders’ track record played a significant role in attracting investment, alongside the current demand for practical AI applications.

Seal notes, “I feel like we’ve finally gone beyond the hype of AI, and now the real-world applications are coming.”

With around 4,000 employees across the Tesonet portfolio, Okmanas swiftly assembled a dedicated team of 30 trusted individuals to work on Nexos.ai. The platform is expected to launch by the end of March, with several beta customers already engaging with the service.
