Unlocking the Future: Honda and Acura EV Owners to Access Tesla Superchargers Starting This June!

In an exciting development for electric vehicle (EV) owners, Honda and its luxury division, Acura, are set to offer access to Tesla’s Supercharger network across North America. This move marks a significant step in enhancing charging options for Honda and Acura electric vehicle users.

Access to Tesla’s Supercharger Network

Starting in June, the owners of the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX will be able to utilize Tesla’s Supercharger stations. However, it’s important to note that these electric vehicles are equipped with CCS charging ports, which differ from the technology used by Tesla. As a result, Honda and Acura customers will need to acquire Honda-approved fast-charging adapters from authorized dealerships. Currently, the automaker has not disclosed the pricing details for these adapters.

Notification and Charging Locations

Honda has announced that owners of the Prologue and ZDX will receive notifications via the HondaLink and Acura EV apps when the adapters become available. Additionally, these apps will provide information on the locations of authorized Supercharger stations, making it easier for users to find charging points.

Adoption of NACS Charging Standard

In a strategic move earlier in 2023, Honda agreed to adopt Tesla’s NACS (North American Charging Standard). Initially, Honda planned to release a new EV model featuring the NACS in 2025; however, this timeline has been extended by one year.

Future EV Models Featuring NACS

The first vehicle that will come equipped with the NACS port is the Acura RSX, anticipated to launch in 2026. This model will be followed by the new Honda 0 series, which was unveiled at CES 2025.
