Partnership with Uber in Atlanta

When Waymo officially launches its commercial robotaxi service in Atlanta, it will be accessible exclusively through the Uber app. Additionally, Waymo and Uber plan to collaborate on launches in Austin later this year.

Waymo initially opened its robotaxi service to select public users in Austin last October, following a successful employee-only phase that began seven months prior.

This announcement from Waymo comes just a day after Elon Musk revealed that Tesla aims to initiate its own robotaxi service in Austin by June. However, Tesla has yet to introduce a fully autonomous vehicle that operates without a human driver prepared to take control.

Waymo’s Existing Services

Currently, Waymo operates its Waymo One autonomous ride-hailing service in several cities, including:
