Chubb, a renowned global insurance leader, has recently made significant leadership appointments within its Overseas General Insurance (COG) division. This strategic move emphasizes Chubb’s dedication to enhancing its underwriting operations and financial lines services worldwide.

New Leadership Appointments at Chubb

Chubb has named Tim Stapleton as the new Chief Underwriting Officer in a role specifically designed to strengthen its underwriting capabilities. Meanwhile, Jason Neu has been appointed as the Executive Vice President of Financial Lines, stepping into a position previously held by Stapleton.

Tim Stapleton’s Role and Responsibilities

In his newly created position, Stapleton will:

  • Lead the development of underwriting operations for COG.
  • Enhance underwriting standards and operational strategies.
  • Oversee audit strategies to ensure compliance and quality control.

Stapleton will report directly to Paul McNamee, Executive Vice President and President of Chubb Group’s Overseas General Insurance division.

Jason Neu’s New Position

Jason Neu, who previously served as Executive Vice President of Financial Lines at Westchester (Chubb’s North American wholesale subsidiary), will now direct Chubb’s international financial lines division. His responsibilities will encompass:

  • Directors’ and Officers’ Liability Insurance
  • Financial Institutions Insurance
  • Errors and Omissions Insurance

Leadership Backgrounds

Tim Stapleton has been with Chubb since 2015, where he initially led product development for cyber and technology industry practices. His extensive experience includes leadership roles at Zurich Insurance and American International Group.

Jason Neu has been a part of Chubb since 2004, starting as a financial lines underwriter. His career has seen him rise through various senior positions, including financial lines manager for Australia & New Zealand.
