In a significant leadership transition, Tokio Marine HCC International has announced the promotion of Thibaud Hervy to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Simon Button as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO). New Leadership at Tokio Marine HCC International
Thibaud Hervy steps into the CEO role after an impressive tenure as CUO – Specialty Lines. Hervy has been with the company since 1999, when he began as an underwriter within HCC Global’s Financial Lines team. Over the years, he has held numerous senior positions, including managing director of HCC Global and CUO of TMHCCI since 2014. His extensive experience has been vital in shaping the company’s underwriting and distribution strategies on a global scale.
Simon Button’s New Role
Simon Button, now appointed as CUO of TMHCCI, previously excelled as CUO – London Market. Joining the firm in 2000, Button has held various leadership roles across the Property, Marine, and Energy divisions. In his new capacity, he will play a crucial role in evolving TMHCCI’s underwriting strategy as the company expands its product portfolio to meet the changing needs of its clients.
Legacy of Barry Cook
Barry Cook, who served as TMHCCI’s CEO for over two decades, has transitioned to the position of deputy CEO of TMHCC. Under his leadership, the company experienced remarkable growth, expanding its London Market presence to a $2.8 billion operation. Cook will continue to support the wider group in his new role.
